ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Who are your Next Gen Leaders?  When you look to the future, who are those leaders your organization will tap to sit at the leadership table?  As an HR executive with a talent for the people management side of your business, you play a critical role in developing the next generation of leaders and creating a talent pipeline for your organization.  What resources can you turn to for developing your emerging leaders and preparing them for a successful transition to a more senior leadership role?  Missing Conversations: A Coaching Tool for Developing Your Next Gen Leaders will introduce you to a leadership development framework for growing the potential of your emerging leaders.  Heather O’Neill Jelks, President of Nautilus Coaching & Consulting, LLC, will introduce us to the 9 Questions All Leaders Should Ask Themselves based on her book, Missing Conversations, and will engage us in an interactive session that provokes personal insights and provides coaching resources for talent development.  You’ll receive a copy of her book and leave with a tool-kit for your own leadership development as well as a framework for encouraging the development of your organization’s next generation of leaders.

Participants will…

  • Use the Missing Conversations Self-Assessment to pin point at least one key area of their leadership to target for attention and development.
  • Explore potential practices and actions for strengthening their leadership in this area.
  • Identify at least one strategy for applying the Missing Conversations framework as a development tool for emerging leaders in their organization.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Heather O’Neill Jelks is a certified executive and team coach, facilitator, speaker, and President at Nautilus Coaching & Consulting, LLC, a company dedicated to the development of masterful leaders.  She partners with executives in business, health care, and the federal government, as well as non-profit leaders in organizations such as CASA Fairfax, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, Holy Cross Health, Morgan Stanley, and the Bowhead Family of Companies, to help them elevate their individual and team performance and enhance their well-being. An avid runner and mindfulness meditation practitioner, Heather introduces her clients to leadership concepts and best practices that deepen resilience, wisdom, and skillful action.  Heather is one of only 100 teachers certified worldwide to deliver Search Inside Yourself, a science and mindfulness-based emotional intelligence curriculum for leaders that originated in Google.  She recently co-authored the book, Missing Conversations: 9 Questions All Leaders Should Ask Themselves, and lives with her family in Alexandria, VA.
