Staffing Specialist-Stimulus Project (10-TE-0)

 

DIVISION:                                        Training and Employment

 

FLSA STATUS:                                 Exempt

 

REPORTS TO:                                  Director Training and Employment Services

 

POSITION SUMMARY:                 

Markets the Training and Employment Services Division to employers within the Washington Metro area as a staffing agency of choice.  The incumbent will develop and coordinate employment opportunities with local businesses to assist job seekers in securing competitive community employment based on their skills, interests and work preferences. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Cultivates relationships with various Human Resources Departments and hiring managers within the Washington Metropolitan area as a means to secure employment for assigned clientele.
  2. Obtains position descriptions, and negotiates offers of employment; keeping the job seekers’ career goals and work preferences in mind.
  3. Verifies employment with employers, updates database, and communicates to Career Coach for case management services.

 

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, human resources development, business administration, or related field, with three or more years of providing placement services to diverse populations.  Five or more years of staffing or placement service experience may substitute the degree.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of staffing and placement theories and marketing techniques. 
  3. Knowledge, skills and abilities in computer-based systems and Internet services to assist individuals in securing employment.
