Membership Information
HRA-NCA provides HR management professionals throughout the greater Washington, DC area with a forum for networking, career development, and job search. Our organization of nearly 500 human resource practitioners, consultants, educators, and vendors has served the greater Washington DC metropolitan area for more than 60 years. HRA-NCA is SHRM chapter number 0025.
HRA-NCA offers numerous opportunities for members to attend meetings, seminars, and other programs. Members may also participate on committees that provide programs for members and the community and perform research in the HR field. In addition, HRA-NCA provides to the business community the authoritative compensation survey of the Washington-Baltimore area; scholarships to worthy HR students; joint SHRM chapter activities; a job bank for HR positions in our area; and much, much more. You can profit from the knowledge we share and volunteer your leadership and service skills in our programs.

Membership Categories and Dues
Professional Members ($75 per year; $10 SHRM membership discount)
- Individuals with three or more years experience in HR management at the exempt level.
- Faculty members in HR disciplines with at least three years experience at an accredited college or university.
- Attorneys with at least three years experience specializing in HR issues.
- HR consultants whose primary job is providing HR services to their clients, not sales.
- Individuals with SPHR or PHR certification.
Top
General Members ($75 per year; $10 SHRM membership discount)
- Individuals with fewer than three years experience in HR management at the exempt level.
Top
Associate Members ($75 per year; $10 SHRM membership discount)
- Individuals holding non-exempt HR positions.
Vendor Members ($150 per year; $10 SHRM membership discount)
- Individuals employed as representative of recruitment firm.
- Representatives of organizations that provide products and/or services used by HR practitioners.

Student Members ($35 per year; $10 SHRM membership discount)
- Individuals enrolled in HR disciplines or related fields who do not meet other membership criteria.

- Individuals retired from positions that would have qualified them for any category of membership in the Association prior to their retirement.
