·  Unraveling the Mysteries of the Multi-Generational Workforce

In today's contemporary workplace, there are now SIX Generation Gaps. Stress, misguided leadership and miscommunication can result in lost productivity, high turnover and poor morale. Moreover, the latest entrants into the workplace represent a turning point in leadership science. Their life experience and values are so dramatically different from those currently "in charge." This program will update your idea of a "Generation Gap" so that you can (1) be a more effective leader yourself, (2) help your organization manage the workforce instead of fall victim to it, (3) improve organizational communications and relationships, and (4) get better results than your competition. Thanks to Compr ehensive Benefit Services, Inc. for sponsoring this program.

Don't miss this interesting presentation!

·  Legislative Update: Get Involved!

Even Though the Election is Over, Your Voice Still Counts! One of the great services SHRM provides its members is a way to communicate quickly and easily with Congress to express their views on pending legislation affecting HR. SHRM gives "credit" to local chapters for letters to Congress that its members send. As the SHRM chapter for the Nation's Capital, we hope that our members will channel their energy from the recent election into action by writing to Congress on HR issues. Visit the SHRM Governmental Affairs Web site for sample letters to e-mail to your elected officials about issues that concern the HR profession. Questions? Contact Norma Sharara, VP-Legislative.
