This is the e-mail newsletter of the Human Resource Association of the National Capital Area (HRA-NCA), a proud affiliated chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). HRA-NCA serves HR professionals throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area with a monthly HR Speaker Series, many other professional development opportunities and the area's best compensation survey.

The election for 2005-06 HRA-NCA Board is on now. A ballot is in the mail to you, if you are eligible to vote. Your vote is very important, so please mark your postcard ballot and drop it in the mail before April 30. This mail ballot is the OFFICIAL HRA-NCA ballot; the previous online balloting process was considered not secure by the Board and was halted. Even if you voted online, you must vote again. Thank you for your participation in the future of HRA-NCA!

Superior MeritThe Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has once again awarded HRA-NCA with its distinguished Superior Merit Chapter designation for 2004. This distinguished honor is presented to chapters that perpetuate and support SHRM's mission by providing exceptional programs and service to their members. HRA-NCA is one of 85 chapters receiving the distinction in SHRM's Southeast Region comprised of 11 states and 147 affiliated chapters. HRA-NCA has won this award 19 times since 1979!
